Marine Scientific Research/Visits to Chagos Archipelago​

​Any marine scientific research in the maritime zones of the Chagos Archipelago and any visits by foreigners and foreign yachts to the Chagos Archipelago require prior authorization from the Government of the Republic of Mauritius.
 
Marine scientific research should be conducted in accordance with the Maritime Zones (Conduct of Marine Scientific Research) Regulations 2017.

Any person who proposes to conduct research in the maritime zones of the Chagos Archipelago should, at least six months prior to the proposed start of the project, submit an application in writing on the prescribed form.

The duly completed application form should be forwarded to:
